ML Tutor na Upper Arlington Schools

UPPER ARLINGTON CITY SCHOOLS

Position: High School ML Tutor (Multilingual) 
Reports to: Principal/Director of Secondary Education 
Employment Status:  P/T (5 hours/day)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary:  Based on Experience ($23.03/hr. - $28.92/hr.)

A Multilingual Tutor will be responsible for providing targeted support to high school students in developing their English language skills. An ML Tutor will work closely with individual students or small groups to enhance their reading, writing, speaking, and listening abilities in English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with ML and classroom teachers to provide support for students:

   

  • Assist in conducting assessments to identify the English language proficiency levels of students

  • Provide personalized learning, tailored to the needs of each student, developed in collaboration with ML teacher

  • Provide support to students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English

  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and promote learning

  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly

  • Communicate with teachers as they work with parents or guardians to provide updates on student progress and recommendations for additional support at home

  • Help ML teacher maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments

  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and motivation among students

  • Work with ML teacher to stay informed about best practices in English language instruction and incorporate them into tutoring sessions

This position is hired and paid through the ESC
