Chowan Animal Hospital is looking for a Pet Care Attendant to join our dedicated team. If you are passionate about animals, love working in a team environment, and take pride in providing excellent care, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and committed to keeping pets safe, happy, and healthy. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on care for dogs and cats while maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facility.
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifts until 7pm or 8pm, as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and rotate dogs in and out of playgroups throughout the day
- Monitor playgroups to ensure a safe and fun environment for all dogs
- Greet clients, check pets in and out, and deliver exceptional customer service
- Feed, water, and care for dogs and cats, including administering medications (training provided)
- Maintain clean and sanitized pet suites, litter boxes, play areas, and general facilities
- Handle laundry, dishes, and other daily cleaning duties
- Record notes in our pet care software (training provided)
- Communicate with teammates about pet needs, routines, and changes
- Assist with taking pets to our veterinary clinic when needed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience working with dogs and cats preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable with extensive cleaning and handling pet messes
- Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail
- Friendly and professional communication with both clients and team members
- Basic computer skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays with some evening shifts
