REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Michigan Certification with appropriate endorsement for specified subject area (SV - Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- Ability to successfully teach students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, cognitive impairment and challenging behavior.
- Ability to teach basic living skills, communication, pre-vocation and functional academics.
- Proficiency in developing Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performancemance statements, IEP goals and objectives, Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Proficiency in implementing IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Must be willing to assist students with basic needs including feeding, toileting, etc.
- Must be familiar with Michigan curriculum standards and alternative assessments and curriculum.
- Ability to modify and make accommodations to general education curriculum.
- Must attend and successfully complete CPI training ASAP (at the next available training in district/county) and maintain certification annually or next available training.
- Must attend trainings as directed by the supervisor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Endorsement in Cognitive Impairment.
- TEACCH Training or Structured Learning Systems for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
SALARY: In accordance with the current WBEA Master Agreement
