In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.

The BCB Instrumental Ensemble Attendance Taker is tasked with recording attendance for instrumental ensemble rehearsals and performances, fulfilling the role of "Personnel Manager" for individual Conservatory ensemble cycles. Attendance takers must be proactive in their communications with the Ensembles Manager and Department Chair, and must model integrity in their recording of attendance and timeliness for all ensemble events.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
At the start of a rehearsal, communicate, to the conductor, documented absences or tardies, based upon information provided on the attendance sheet, or by the Student Ensembles Manager or Department Chair
Log absences and tardy arrivals for a rehearsals or performance, recording attendance for each new work on that service
Contact missing performers by phone or text message for updates
Report absences and tardies to the Ensemble Manager
Monitor adherence to the ensemble dress policies for the assigned performance and communicate any issues with the Ensemble Manage
Qualifications
Reliability - When assigned to an ensemble, you are relied upon to attend every rehearsal to take attendance, returning between pieces to confirm attendance as casting rotates
Timely and clear communication - you will be asked to communicate with fellow students, as well as the Student Ensembles Manager
Integrity - You are responsible for reporting absences and tardies to the Ensembles Manager accurately. This will require you to be honest and impartial in regards to reporting accurately and treating all students fairly.
Knowledgeable - Ensemble Assistants must be generally knowledgeable about Ensemble policies, such as tardies and absences, concert dress policies, and rehearsal schedules. In addition to policies, Instrumental Ensemble Attendance Takers will need to be familiar with students in the department, as well as ensemble setups (seating conventions), to assist with efficiently taking attendance.
