About the Role
We’re looking for a Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Berri Estates Winery in South Australia.
This is a full-time, shift-based role where you’ll learn to maintain and repair mechanical systems across our winery operations.
You’ll be supported by experienced mentors and structured learning through TAFE, working toward a nationally recognised qualification while gaining hands-on experience with vintage equipment, pumps, conveyors, and more.
What You'll Be Doing
Under supervision, you’ll:
- Perform preventive maintenance on winery machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in tanks, pumps, presses, etc.
- Maintain pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Assist with equipment installation and commissioning
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Record maintenance activities and parts usage
- Support general facility maintenance and inventory management
- Follow safety, environmental, and food-grade standards
Who We're Looking For
Skills & Qualifications:
- Completion of Year 11 or 12 with solid Maths & English
- Pre-vocational course or Cert I/II (advantageous but not essential)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Forklift License (advantageous but not essential)
- Driver’s license

- Team player with a proactive attitude
- Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements:
- Manual handling
- Willingness to work shifts and undertake safety training
