Job Summary
The Fuel and DEF Sales Specialist role is a field-driven sales position for a motivated professional who thrives in competitive environments. This position is responsible for generating sales growth, achieving profitability targets, and building long-term customer relationships across an assigned territory. The Sales Specialist will sell fuel, DEF, and associated services while providing technical consultation, customer training, and account support. This role requires daily travel within the region to meet with clients and prospects and is performance-driven with significant growth opportunity.
Job Responsibilities
In addition to standard sales activities, the Fuel and DEF Sales Specialist will:
• Achieve a minimum of 15% sales profitability and market growth by selling fuels, lubricants, and value-added services.
• Develop new accounts and expand existing customer base within assigned territory.
• Cultivate, manage, and retain long-term customer relationships to secure repeat business and long-term agreements.
• Provide technical support and knowledgeable consultation on product use and benefits.
• Utilize CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) daily for pipeline management, forecasting, and account tracking.
• Conduct customer presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations.
• Travel daily within the assigned region to conduct client visits, prospecting, and field support.
Essential Functions (with or without reasonable accommodation)
• Ability to travel daily within assigned territory (reliable transportation required, mileage reimbursed).
• Ability to lift product samples and promotional materials (up to 30 lbs).
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role, including extended periods of driving, site visits, and walking industrial locations.
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
• Proven B2B sales experience (fuel, lubricants, or automotive sectors strongly preferred).
• Associate’s degree (2-year) preferred, technical or sales certifications in petroleum, fuel, or lubricants industry a plus.
• Computer literacy, including intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
• Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
• Track record of successful territory management.
• Experience conducting client training and presentations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
