Job Description:An opportunity exists for a permanent part-time Grade 2 speech pathologist (0.6FTE) to join our established multidisciplinary team within the Speech Pathology and Dietetics Department, in Continuing Care & Support Services at Epworth Camberwell. You will be responsible for providing speech pathology assessment and management to inpatients and outpatients, admitted with stroke and non-stroke neurological conditions (eg: progressive diseases), as well as other conditions impacting on swallowing, communication and cognition.
You will make an impact by:
- Providing evidence-based communication and swallowing management and education to patients and their family/carers
- Being an active member of the department and multidisciplinary team
- Actively participating in quality improvement activities
- Being committed to life-long learning and sharing knowledge and skill
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least three years experience working clinically with adults in a hospital or community setting
- Well-developed clinical skills providing evidence-based interventions
- Experience using a variety of cog-comm assessment and intervention tools
- Proven experience working in a multidisciplinary team, alongside consumers and families
- Strong understanding of instrumental evaluations of swallowing (eg: VFSS/FEES)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

- Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent degree
- Eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
- Eligibility for Certified Practising Membership of SPA
