A lovely family in Castro Valley is seeking a reliable and engaging part-time Mother’s Helper to support their two children, ages 3 and 5. This is a long-term role with an immediate start, providing care Monday through Thursday from 3pm-6:30pm. The ideal candidate will be playful, proactive, and comfortable managing food allergies in the home. The 3-year-old is outgoing and loves dinosaurs, fire trucks, and princesses, while the 5-year-old is more reserved and enjoys arts and crafts, painting, and imaginative play. Both children may need a little time to warm up, so a gentle and patient approach is appreciated.

- Length of Position: Long-term
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3pm-6:30pm
- Compensation: $35 per hour
Responsibilities
- Engage children in play, crafts, reading, and creative activities
- Assist with potty training for the 3-year-old
- Prepare light snacks and meals for the children
- Perform light housekeeping related to the children (dishes, tidying-up toys, laundry)
- Occasionally drive the children (family vehicle and car seats provided)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of paid professional childcare experience with children ages 3–5
- CPR certified, or willing to become certified
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Able to provide two professional childcare references
- Ability to pass a background and social media screening
Compensation
This position pays $35 per hour and the family is looking for 14 hours of care per week.
