Title: NEMT Contract Specialist 
Location: Bellevue, WA. 
Approximately 50% of work time is conducted in a hybrid/remote or office setting and approximately 50% will involve travel within King and Snohomish County. 
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. 
There is some flexibility in schedule and work location.

The career opportunity: The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Contract Specialist works with Hopelink Transportation Brokerage service partners (transportation contractors) as a liaison and compliance monitor. The Contract Specialist is responsible for monitoring and auditing the service of our contracted service providers’ performance to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation of clients. This position also works independently to facilitate the relationships between Hopelink and medical facilities; monitoring service, contractual compliance, evaluating effectiveness, troubleshooting issues and educating facility staff on the NEMT program. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, exercise sound judgment, and possess a passion for limiting barriers to healthcare access.

  • Two years’ experience in the transportation field with knowledge of contractual compliance processes and procedures for non-compliance. 
  • Two years’ experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative and team player.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and creatively problem solve.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with paratransit services, DOT, and ADA regulations preferred. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout King and Snohomish Counties. Travel frequency is based on business need. Mileage will be reimbursed based on miles driven from the designated office base.
  • Reliable personal transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto liability insurance required. 
  • This position is a Service Critical Employee with specific attendance requirements:  
    • Employee must manage own transportation needs in adverse weather, including possible limitations to public transportation options.  Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to our business and to this position.

Examples of what you will be doing:

  • Work collaboratively across all Brokerage positions to improve service for our clients and relationships with service providers and medical facilities.
  • Provide real-time monitoring and evaluation of contracted service providers’ performance, track and audit fleet maintenance records, and ensure service partner staff meets licensing, training, and background check requirements. 
  • Measure partner contractual performance, identify needs, collaboratively develop performance improvement plans, and conduct onsite service partner training.
  • Serve as a contact amongst Hopelink, service partners, and medical facilities to ensure that steps are proactively taken to handle problems that may affect the service or contractual obligations. 
  • Through outreach, develop business relationships throughout King County to expand program impact.

How you will be compensated: Hopelink is proud to provide meaningful paid time away from work and an affordable, comprehensive benefits package.

  • Compensation: $26.25/hour
  • Up to 10 paid vacation and sick days annually and 10 paid holidays 
  • Plus up to 7 paid float days available to use immediately; dependent on hire date and hours/week
