JOB DESCRIPTION
Position job Title: Retail Distribution Center Inventory Lead
Reports To: Distribution Center GM
Department: Retail Distribution Center
Classification: Full-Time Year-Round
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
GENERAL PURPOSE
Assist Distribution Center Managers and Supervisors in all aspects of inventory maintenance from taking deliveries, to processing product and fulfillment efforts to achieve retail goals through effective distribution center operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist Processing team as needed with organization, identification and prioritization of complete incoming shipments for receiving into inventory and accurate distribution to retail locations
- Lead seasonal staff to execute accurate order check-in and tagging projects
- Assist Fulfillment team as needed with organization and maintenance of inventory management systems and periodic scheduled inventory location confirmation scans
- Lead seasonal staff to execute daily restocking efforts
- Assist Operations team as needed with intake and organization of daily UPS/FedEx/freight deliveries and couriering logistics
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to accomplish all facility organization and upkeep tasks
- Assist Fulfillment, Processing, and Operations teams with inventory maintenance by using heavy machinery to ensure organization and efficient warehouse operations.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Work as a retail inventory staff as needed to assist during busy times
- Support all sub-departments of Retail Distribution Center (Processing, Fullfillment, Operations) as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Basic knowledge of the ski/snowboard industry and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
- Strong spatial awareness and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Working understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy
- Basic writing and math competencies
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively
- Ability to direct and instruct seasonal staff
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and instructions to ensure consistency in distribution center operations.
- Ability to shift focus based on seasonal fluctuations in workload and business demands
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates primarily in a warehouse setting and routinely uses phones, computers, email, printers and scanners, forklift, stock picker, dock stacker and manual pallet jacks. Most work is completed in an indoor environment. However, occasional work is required in an outdoor environment to load merchandise into or out of trucks and move between indoor spaces. Outdoor environment may include exposure to extreme temperatures, varying weather conditions and uneven terrain including snow and ice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Climbing ladders and stairs; balancing on ladders and stairs; stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and feeling to process and fulfill retail orders; talking and hearing to communicate with team members and perform safety spotting for heavy machinery/vehicle tasks; standing and walking on concrete floors and parking lots in all weather conditions; repetitive motions involved in processing and fulfillment tasks
- Lifting up to 75 lb cartons of retail product
- Visual acuity to engage established spatial organization systems, interface with warehouse management software and mechanisms, analyze written accounting documents such as pack slips, receiving and distribution logs and invoicing
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle/box truck in highly variable weather and road conditions
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Full time, year round
- Typically operates during normal business hours but may require weekend work
- Schedules and hours may fluctuate depending on business needs
- Work on holidays may be required
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in a role with standard operating procedures
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field
- Retail and warehouse experience preferred
- Previous experience in the ski or resort industry preferred
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS
- Heavy machinery trainings and certifications must be completed upon hire
