Job Title: Paraplanner

Position Summary

The Paraplanner position is an entry-level role to develop the necessary skills to analyze and build financial plans.

The ideal candidate is a team player, eager to learn, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects. 

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Develop a general understanding of how to use firm platforms such as our CRM, Portfolio Management software, Schwab and Fidelity. 
  • Learn The SFMG Way and follow firm processes 
  • Enter data for new financial plans or plan updates in eMoney
  • Prepare client review materials and financial planning reports
  • Prepare financial analyses and research for various personal wealth management issues; including but not limited to retirement planning, investments, estate planning, tax planning, debt management and insurance
  • Assist with follow-up items from client meetings, client projects and team projects
  • Provide support to Lead Planners and Advisors
  • Develop skills to present financial plans to Planners and Advisors
  • Assist Planners in developing recommended strategies or solutions for achieving client goals and objectives
  • Attend weekly Financial Planning team meetings and quarterly Wealth Management Committee meetings

Skills & Abilities

Education: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred field of study: Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting

Experience: 0-2 years 

Computer Skills: Preferred but not required: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, One Note, Teams)  

Job Status: Full time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Eligible for Telework: Yes

Work Schedule:

M-F; hours may vary by day between 8:00AM – 5:00PM

This position is located in Plano TX.
