Established in 1934, the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) is a non-profit organization providing compassionate care to the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer multi-line phone system, and direct calls to appropriate team members for action.
- Greet, check-in, and direct visitors who come to the building.
- Maintain inventory of office supplies.
- Process and fulfill supply requests.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Provide administrative support (scanning, data entry, etc.) for various projects.
- Works with internal and external customers to achieve timely and friendly customer-centered delivery of services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
- Delivers meals to clients as needed by the program.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years or more previous experience in a customer service environment or business office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expert customer service skills to effectively manage customer relationships.
- Knowledge of Meals on Wheels program and community resources to interpret and apply practical measures to meet customer needs (preferred).
- Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Ability to relate cooperatively to clients, volunteers, and staff of various professional backgrounds.
- Detailed oriented with ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrates the characteristics of courtesy, honesty, and integrity necessary to meet customer service expectations.
- Previous experience, preferably in a health care or nonprofit environment (preferred).
Special Requirements:
- Valid Texas Driver’s License required.
- Proof of valid Texas Automobile Liability Insurance required.
- Automobile or access to an automobile in good working condition.
Technical & Physical Requirements:
- Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit for extended periods, and enter sites without disability access.
- Clerical and administrative work requiring vision.
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment (computer, copier, fax, etc.).
Working Conditions:
- Environmental Conditions/Hazardous Exposure: driving within 50+ mile radius; contingent upon current weather conditions.
- Hazardous Exposure: minimal exposure.
- Physical Effort: minimal.
- In VNA office: good.
Continuing Education Requirement:
- Completion of annual VNA training (e.g., via Relias or approved alternatives).
