We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Linux Engineer to join our Global Infrastructure team. As a Linux Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based systems and solutions across a global enterprise. This position requires deep technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and geographies.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Percent of Time
Linux Infrastructure design & services:
• Design and optimize Linux-based solutions to meet business requirements
• Collaborate with architecture teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of Linux infrastructure systems.
• Engineer system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with organizational & security policies.
• Engineer and maintain management tool platform integration around JITA and PAM
• Create documentation to support the Linux service
25% Automation and Scripting:
• Develop and maintain scripts using Bash, Python, or other languages to automate repetitive tasks and improve the operational efficiency of our Linux platform.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar. 30%
Monitoring and Performance Tuning of Linux Service:
• Ensure system performance metrics, troubleshoot escalated issues from operations, and optimize configurations for maximum efficiency.
• Create proactive monitoring solutions to ensure system availability and reliability. 25%
Security and Compliance:
• Ensure Linux systems adhere to security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, GDPR).
• Work closely with cybersecurity teams to identify vulnerabilities and design mitigations.
• Oversee MSP monthly patching remediation 20%

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration and engineering.
• Proven experience working in large-scale, global infrastructure environments.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS. • Expertise in Linux distributions such as Red Hat or Ubuntu.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, virtualization, and cloud platforms (e.g., VMWare, KVM, Azure, AWS).
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
This role requires working in a global environment, occasionally outside regular business hours to support infrastructure deployments or critical issues. 0-5% Travel may be required. Hybrid Work - Tuesday to Thursday in office
