About the Role
Aramex Australia has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced State Manager to join our team, based in Melbourne and responsible for our operations across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Reporting to the Operations Director - Australia, you’ll lead the development and implementation of strategies and plans that promote the long-term sustainability and growth of our depots across these States.
As State Manager, you’ll drive sales, champion operational excellence, ensure franchise and regulatory compliance, and foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve long-term objectives and depot sustainability across VIC, SA & TAS.
- Meet or exceed annual budgets and financial targets for your region.
- Drive franchise recruitment, retention, and compliance.
- Partner with the Regional Commercial Director – Oceania to drive sales and build strong customer relationships.
- Champion continuous improvement, process optimisation, and automation.
- Effectively plan and manage resources to maximise profitability.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, engagement, and high performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and franchise standards.
To be successful in this role:
- A proven track record in general management within a service-based business.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading teams to deliver profitable growth.
- Solid financial management skills including P&L, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Proven experience in transport-specific functions such as route/capacity evaluation and 24/7 operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong influencing capability and ability to manage multiple projects and change.
- A collaborative, mentoring leadership style with a focus on driving high performance.
