JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the timely and accurate billing of all clinic patient accounts. Ensure accurate and complete information appears on the UB-04 or 1500 in the electronic billing system. Review accounts for accuracy and completeness. Will ensure all hospital and clinic payments are posted to the correct account to include unapplied transactions and other credits that are able to be applied to other accounts. The patient accounts coordinator is responsible for downloading the daily bank account and distributing via email. Will also sort the mail to ensure proper placement in department mailboxes. Will ensure the mail needing to be opened is given to the appropriate person to open and sort. The patient accounts coordinator is responsible for posting payments made to the online portal and ensuring that all other drawers are posted to the correct account and balanced each day. Will ensure all checks, zero pay remits, and denials are scanned to the daily folders. Will prepare the daily deposit and notify the accounts receivable department of deposit total. Will ensure all correspondence is scanned into electronic health record and billing department is notified. Will assist the payroll department with updating information for payroll deductions and will be responsible for accurate posting of payroll deduction payments after payroll has been processed. Will function as relief for hospital cashier as needed. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
