Summary:

The Financial Counselor II is a Medicaid Policy Expert who remains up to date with Medicaid policy and demonstrates accurate interpretation and application of said policies. Identifies and establish opportunities to expedite the application process through document collection, contact with commercial or government agencies, and meeting with families including home visits. The FCII follows best practice as it relates to claim processing by ensuring timely physician enrollment, referral requirements and verification standards.

Description

1. Serves as patient financial advocate for Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, and TEFRA enrollment. Works closely with patients and agencies to ensure timely application disposition 


2. Performs ARIES duties related to application processing including; timely registration, scanning, tasking, navigation and documentation. 

3. Works as an assister for the federally facilitated insurance marketplace. 

4. Maintains accountability for Medicaid processing expectations through document collection and verification standards required for application approval. 

5. Performs duties as it relates to existing eligibility in the form of retro-active processing, PCP enrollment and changes, corrections to name, address, DOB, or any information that may hinder claim processing. 


6. Maintains the pending application report with little to no supervision. Ensures that all applications near an overdue disposition are referred to lead/manager for timely review. 

7. Updates demographic collection to hospital EMR as it relates to case processing. This may include, but is not limited to: coverage and guarantor information, verification of benefits, Care teams, referral status and other billing requirements. 

8. Maintains the PMCD, PCP and case follow-up work queues


9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
