QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Associate degree (AS) in Computer Science, Healthcare, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience: 1-2 years in Financial Coordination or Clinical Research
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication and interpersonal/collaborative abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to multitask, problem solve, and prioritize
  • Extreme attention to detail and to identify errors and make appropriate corrections

JOB SUMMARY

This role combines financial/budget oversight, contract negotiations, and clinical research coordination to ensure the seamless operation of our research department. You will collaborate with medical staff, manage budgets, and maintain research document integrity while supporting grant compliance and departmental efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial & Budget Management:

  • Collaborate with the Fiscal Department and Sponsors to develop, monitor, and maintain trial budgets.
  • Oversee billing, payment tracking, patient participant expenses, and grant-related financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with grant/contract terms, including budget justifications, renewals, and progress reports.
  • Work with Sponsors regarding budget negotiates and payments 2) Research Operations:
  • Coordinate trial operations with Study Coordinators, including specimen logistics, inventory management, and regulatory document archiving.
  • Track required certifications and notify Team Members if expired (e.g., CITI training, Licenses).

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule team meetings and document proceedings
  • Ensure supply availability for the research team and placing orders as necessary

PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE DEMANDS

Physical:

  • Occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs), sitting, standing, walking and fine hand/eye skills for computer use.

Cognitive:

  • Advanced cognitive skills: Abstract reasoning, advanced decision making and medical terminology comprehension and a Team participant.
  • High level of communication skills, including expression of abstract/complex ideas, use of negotiation and active listening, and an ability to dialogue with multiple parties.
  •  Requires extreme accuracy and legibility, spelling accuracy with logical sentence and paragraph organization,
  • Meticulous record keeping and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
