JOB OVERVIEW

MartinFed has an opening for a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team of talented and diverse individuals. The Solutions Architect leads the design, development, deployment, and optimization of secure, scalable cloud solutions across the enterprise. This role is responsible for shaping cloud architecture, enabling service delivery models such as Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Data as a Service (DaaS), and implementing automation through DevSecOps best practices. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in cloud-native development, cloud migration, automation, and enterprise modernization strategies, with a proven ability to design resilient, secure, and cost-effective multi-cloud and hybrid solutions. This individual will provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure cloud initiatives align with business, security, and compliance requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Cloud Architecture & Delivery Models:
    • Design and implement secure, scalable architectures for PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, and DaaS solutions.
    • Develop reusable cloud frameworks supporting multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
  • DevSecOps & Automation:
    • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab.
    • Integrate security and compliance into the cloud development lifecycle by enforcing DevSecOps best practices.
  • Cloud Migration & Modernization:
    • Analyze applications for cloud readiness and recommend appropriate platforms and deployment strategies.
    • Lead migration efforts, ensuring minimal disruption, optimized performance, and alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Optimization, Resiliency & Cost Management:
    • Develop strategies for high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and cloud failure/recovery.
    • Provide guidance on cost optimization and conduct benefit analyses of cloud, cloud-agnostic, and on-premise services.
  • Security & Governance:
    • Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to meet internal and regulatory security standards.
    • Implement cloud-native security services and monitor environments for vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Innovation & Prototyping:
    • Research emerging technologies, design prototypes, and deliver innovative cloud solutions.
    • Drive integration of new technologies into enterprise systems.
  • Application Support & Maintenance:
    • Perform ongoing review and maintenance of cloud applications and systems.
    • Identify issues and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.
  • Mentorship & Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to project teams and contribute to enterprise-level cloud governance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US Citizen with a Top Secret Clearance w/ SCI Elgibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of software or cloud development experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead cloud role)
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud providers and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
  • Advanced skills in Python, Java, or similar programming languages for cloud-native development.
  • Expert in automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure software development.
  • Proven experience building, deploying, and supporting mission-critical cloud applications

DESIRED:

  • DoD 8570.01m IAM/IAT Level 3 Cert (CISM, CCSP, CASP, CISSP).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture, serverless technologies, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and compliance (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Inside office environment.
  • Working on a computer for long periods of time.
  • May involve long period of sitting at a desk.
  • The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures.
