Job Summary:
The IT (Information Technology) Technician is a professional responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's computer systems, networks, and technology infrastructure. The primary role is to ensure that technology resources are running efficiently and effectively to support the business' operations.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Support - Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for end-users who encounter computer or technology-related issues.
- Hardware and Software Maintenance - Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops, servers) and software (e.g., operating systems, applications).
- Network Management - Setting up and managing local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and WIFI management to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Security - Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect against viruses, malware, data breaches, and other cyber threats.
- Data Backup and Recovery - Regularly backing up data and developing recovery procedures to minimize data loss in case of system failure.
- Upgrades and Updates - Keeping systems and software up to date with the latest patches and upgrades to maintain security and functionality.
- Inventory Management - Keeping track of IT assets, such as: computers, servers, and networking equipment.
- Documentation - Maintaining records, manuals, and documentation related to IT systems and procedures.
- Remote Support - Providing remote assistance to users who are not physically present at the office.
- Collaboration - Working closely with other IT professionals and departments to address complex technical challenges and implement technology solutions.
- Password Resets and Account Management - Assist users with password resets and account issues. Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Prior experience in IT support, help desk, or a related field is advantageous.
- CompTIA A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications required.
- Proficiency in software troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and their functions.
- Familiarity with network administration principles and protocols.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
