Four Star Seafood is seeking a hands-on Inside Sales Manager who is excited to join our quickly growing company, oversee all aspects of the Inside Sales process, drive and support post-sale client engagement, including managing relationships, delivering performance insights, and driving revenue growth through creative and proactive strategies.
The primary role of the Inside Sales Manager is to lead by example by participating in day-to-day operations with the Inside Sales team and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders. Inside Sales works with our existing customers to serve as a trusted partner for seafood and gourmet provisions. Through an engaged and collaborative style, our representatives build meaningful relationships with chefs and buyers, facilitate the order process, and grow their sales portfolio year-over-year. As the team leader, you work alongside the team and handle escalated customer issues, provide guidance and mentoring to team members, and drive continuous improvement in operation efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Work in tandem with the Inside Sales Team, managing current customer accounts with the goal of providing excellent customer support, which results in high levels of customer retention and new opportunities to up/cross sell appropriately based on our customers’ changing needs.
- Act as the main point of contact for the accounts you directly manage; understand their needs, process roadblocks and how Four Star Seafood can support them through frequent check-ins.
- Lead training and development of staff to ensure exceptional service standards.
- Mentor and lead the Inside Sales Team, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability through leading by example.
- Collaborate with other departments, including purchasing, receiving, sales, and logistics, to ensure inventory accuracy, smooth operations, and effective communication.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients via verbal and written communications to ensure that any requests and concerns are addressed quickly and professionally.
- Conduct business dealing with prospects in a way that represents Four Star Seafood’s passion for high quality, sustainable food, and our company values.
- Drive and own revenue KPI’s to achieve sales goals and objectives.
- Responsible for maintenance and retention of assigned accounts.
- Generate revenue by selling, managing, and developing existing client relationships while understanding client needs, tailoring customer solutions through consultative selling.
- Maintain hyper focus on identifying opportunities in a customer’s environment and develop a business-orient point of view that compels them to trust Four Star Seafood to solve it.
- Prioritize opportunities to provide the best customer experience and ensure 100% customer satisfaction with our products and service offerings.
- Use internal sales systems and process optimally for all lead management and sales forecasting.
- Foster and accelerate strong partnerships to expand market coverage, awareness, and penetration within your accounts.
- Responsible for increasing sales through account penetration by analyzing current sales and volume, planning sales calls, and follow-up.
- Perform development activities such as inbound lead follow-up calls, sales campaigns, and email communication for prospective and incoming customers.
- Perform administrative functions such as general correspondence and maintenance of accurate records, files, client information, and monitor inventory levels of products.
- Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and all company policies.
Requirements
If you would like to join our dynamic team, you will bring the following traits to the position:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on leadership experience, managing teams of at least 5 – 10 people.
- Previous experience working in the Food & Beverage industry – restaurants and/or commercial kitchens.
- Applicants with previous chef/culinary experience PREFERRED.
- Knowledge and experience in the Seafood Industry is a plus!
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales.
- Highly organized with prior experience working in fast paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills with ability to pivot through changing business needs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Proficiency with administrative functions such as general correspondence, maintenance of accurate records, employee files, and inventory reporting.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and manage others effectively with a hyper focus on a team-oriented mindset and a positive attitude.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Self-motivated with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong phone contact handling skills and great active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products and Google products, especially with Excel.

- Trustworthy with strong work ethic and integrity.
- Speak English fluently and coherently. (Bilingual a plus!)
Work Hours and Availability:
This is a full-time position based out of the San Francisco location. Work schedule varies based on business needs. Approximate schedule is Monday – Friday, from 6:00am – 3:00pm; some flexibility is required.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a salary exempt position with performance-based pay. Pay includes a base pay of $80,000 annually plus a Commission Plan. (OTE range is $80,000 - $120,000 annually). Employee benefits are available for all qualifying full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, vision, and dental insurance. In addition, employees receive fresh seafood products and company merchandise at cost plus 10%.
