ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize familiarity with estate planning process and income tax, transfer tax, and trust and estate laws to deliver comprehensive wealth planning advice and strategic consulting services.
- Apply your previous experiences in tax, trust and estate planning to help develop long term relationships with clients and drive business results.
- Research and analyze trends that may impact clients and their wealth management plans.
- Sustain a strong familiarity with specific issues that arise with wealthy clients and display distinct ability to respond to estate planning or wealth management issues and offer advice to clients on how to proceed upon notice of a major life event or change in tax law.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Stephens financial consultants.
- Provide training to new Stephens financial consultants in the areas of basic tax and estate planning.
- Maintain knowledge of general economic and political trends and stay abreast of possible tax or other legislation that could affect the business climate.
- Work with client attorneys, CPAs and other third party advisors as needed to memorialize client’s intent through document production, and to implement and carry out the client’s wealth management plans.
- Write technical articles that promote and support the wealth management platform and related strategies.
- Communicate to the Chief Tax and Wealth Planning Strategist and other appropriate firm personnel important developments affecting the firm’s clients.
- Act as a resource for tax preparers/specialists on specific tax issues and related questions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Tax and Wealth Planning Strategist.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- D. from accredited law school required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
- LLM in taxation and/or CPA and/or significant and meaningful experience required
- 2+ years of experience in private legal, accounting or similar practice, with a concentration in tax, trust and estate planning services required
- Experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families with respect to federal transfer tax, estate planning, and federal income tax matters
- Experience drafting wills, trusts and other wealth transfer vehicles
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Licensed attorney in good standing with your state bar

- SIE – Securities Industry Essentials
- Series 7 – General Securities Representative
- Series 66 – Uniform Combined State Law
- Life & Health Insurance License
