We are searching for a Facilities Space Planner – someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll be responsible for providing planning and space management to deliver strategic solutions tied to facilities space needs and master planning.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in arts, interior design, architecture, facility management or related field required
  • 2 years’ experience as a facility planner or coordinator, which includes demonstrated experience in resolving space problems utilizing industry standard tools, including databases, CAD software and presentation techniques required

Responsibilities:

  • Space planning and space management programs
  • Evaluate department requirements and the suitability of occupied and vacant spaces for potential service(s) or program(s) and develop optimal solutions that will maximize utilization and efficiency
  • Manage all space related requests from initial receipt through to completion, including Space Allocation Requests (SAR),
  • Requests for Services (RFS) and inquiries from leadership
  • Facilitate discussions with end users at all levels to understand the nature of their request for space, develop test fits and draft CAD plans to outline proposed solutions that address the need
  • Identify spaces to assess and perform space utilization analysis to pinpoint efficiencies and inefficiencies, develop clear resolution for the inefficiencies to be implemented by leadership
  • Develop scope of work based on customer needs consistent with standards and objectives
  • Manage the application and enforcement of the Space Management Program Policy & Procedure to ensure that program goals are met in alignment with strategic goals, policy standards and master planning principles through pre-planning, end user communication, and interpreting national, state, and local codes
  • Educate end users on the Space Management Policy and the SAR process to ensure a clear understanding of how to request space while incorporating a strategic space plan that will improve their overall utilization
  • Develop and implement space planning assessment and optimization programs to be incorporated
  • Assess sources of data required for the facilities planning process and implement workflow changes to enhance the process or address gaps in data
  • Collaborate with leadership to understand future population and space needs, as well as provides guidance on configurations to support both current and future requirements
