About Us

Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners specifically within cybersecurity, privacy, and financial audit. Put simply, we build software for the people who enable trust between businesses.

We’re based in San Francisco, CA, but built as a remote-first company that enables you to do your best work from anywhere. We're backed by top investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, DNX Ventures, Global Founders Capital, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.

We value diversity — in backgrounds and in experiences. We need people from all backgrounds and walks of life to help build the future of audit and advisory. Fieldguide’s team is inclusive, driven, humble and supportive. We are deliberate and self-reflective about the kind of team and culture that we are building, seeking teammates that are not only strong in their own aptitudes but care deeply about supporting each other's growth.

As an early stage start-up employee, you’ll have the opportunity to build out the future of business trust. We make audit practitioners’ lives easier by eliminating up to 50% of their work and giving them better work-life balance. If you share our values and enthusiasm for building a great culture and product, you will find a home at Fieldguide.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior People Operations Coordinator who will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience at Fieldguide. In this role, you’ll own core People processes like onboarding, offboarding, leave management, compliance, and policy support while also taking the lead on optimizing our People systems so they scale with us as we grow.

You’ll be the go-to resource for employees’ day-to-day questions, the architect of efficient and automated workflows, and a trusted partner to the People team as we build a thoughtful, people-first function for a high-growth Series B company. This role is based in San Francisco, and you should plan to be in our SF office at least once per week to support the in-office employee experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and elevate the onboarding experience, creating a seamless journey from pre-boarding through orientation that equips new hires with the tools, resources, and connections they need to thrive from day one.

  • Guide employees through smooth and thoughtful offboarding experiences, ensuring processes are seamless and continuously improved through automation.

  • Continuously improve workflows across our People systems (Rippling and 15Five), ensuring they power a seamless employee journey, enable accurate data and insights, and automate recurring processes like reviews, surveys, and reporting.

  • Assist in drafting and refreshing company policies, turning them into clear, easy-to-use resources that evolve alongside the business.

  • Support employees through the leave of absence process by working closely with our vendor, Sparrow, and ensuring every employee feels informed and supported at each step.

  • Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to streamline systems, automate manual processes, and continuously identify opportunities to integrate AI-driven solutions, ensuring the People Operations team remains innovative, efficient, and future-focused.

  • Uphold compliance by ensuring our People practices align with legal and regulatory requirements, including training, policy acknowledgements, accurate recordkeeping, reporting, and audits, while continuously finding opportunities to streamline and automate.

  • Maintain clean, reliable employee data by running regular audits in Rippling and designing automated reporting.

  • Be the first point of contact for employee questions on People programs, benefits, payroll, and more, while also building self-service resources that make answers easy to find.

  • Enhance the in-office employee experience in San Francisco by keeping the space inviting and stocked, and by introducing vendors or tools that make it effortless to maintain.

Who You Are

  • You bring 3+ years of relevant People/HR experience, ideally from a high-growth environment where you’ve worn many hats and thrived.

  • You’re passionate about the employee experience and constantly look for ways to make it smoother, more engaging, and more human.

  • You approach every workflow with an automation-first mindset, always asking how systems, tools, or processes can free up time and create better outcomes.

  • You thrive in ambiguity and see unstructured environments as an exciting opportunity to design smart, scalable processes from the ground up.

  • You operate with a strong sense of ownership, taking initiative and driving work forward without waiting for direction.

  • You build trust quickly and communicate clearly, whether you’re partnering with employees, managers, or executives.

  • You are highly detail-oriented and take pride in accuracy, while moving with urgency to keep pace with the needs of a fast-growing company.

  • You know when precision is critical and when progress matters more, striking the right balance to keep things moving without sacrificing quality.

Bonus Points

  • Background in scaling People practices through Series A/B growth stages and beyond.

  • Experience supporting employees across multiple geographies, whether multi-state or international, with an understanding of local nuances.

  • Hands-on experience shaping the employee experience, from in-office culture initiatives to planning and executing company-wide events like offsites.
