Job Title: Parking and Transit Attendant – Seasonal (Winter 25/26)
FLSA: Non-Exempt 
Salary Grade: 10 (Min $20.97, Mid $24.64, Max $28.31)
Hiring Range: $21.00
Season dates: 11/21/25 - 4/5/26

*Seasonal employee housing is available on a first come, first served basis.  Parking is extremely limited and not guaranteed with housing.

NATURE OF WORK:
Under direct supervision, will service the Town of Mountain Village (TMV) parking lots while providing safe, secure, and courteous guest services to parking system users. Will also assist with the daily operations of the gondola and municipal bus service; may serve as a fill in crew member on the gondola.

Position Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attends to TMV parking facilities and assists the Parking Coordinator as directed.
  • Provides exceptional, welcoming, friendly, warm and enthusiastic customer service at all times.  
  • Will direct guests to parking spaces.
  • Will assist guests with TMV mobile payments platform to pay for parking sessions.
  • Will answer parking system users questions regarding parking, directions and information about services and amenities located in Mountain Village and surrounding areas, including lodging, restaurants, retail, and recreation. 
  • Counts vehicles at specified times to determine utilization of TMV parking facilities.
  • Performs daily inspections of TMV parking lots, reports any operational problems to the supervisor in a timely manner, cleans parking lots as needed utilizing proper personal protective equipment, and assists with snow maintenance.
  • Will assist in compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety requirements related to safe, responsive, and reliable parking services are provided to employees, guests, and residents
  • Conducts surveys to obtain demographic information of the users of the TMV parking system.
  • Performs daily inspections of TMV parking lots and all support equipment including elevators, lights, and cameras.   Reports any operational problems to management in a timely manner.
  • Will support the Transit team by filling in as a Gondola Operator I working in the Gondola stations and driving the buses/shuttles when assistance is requested. All Gondola Operator I duties and responsibilities are expected to be followed when occasionally filling this role.  
  • Continuously inspects, cleans and maintains Gondola cabins, stations, and facilities; assists  maintenance staff as needed; loads and unloads skis, snowboards, bicycles, and child-carriers as necessary.
  • Removes trash and personal items from cabins while utilizing the proper personal protective equipment and following appropriate Transit procedures. 
  • Operates a rubber-tired 14 passenger or smaller transport shuttle vehicle transporting the public and/or employees; drives transport shuttle routes as needed; transports public and/or employees in inclement weather; performs daily vehicle checks; reports any unsafe conditions with vehicle; wears seat belts when operating any town vehicle
  • Promote and observe safe work methods and use safety equipment; secure work sites as necessary; attends safety meetings, actively participates in trainings

All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIIONS:
High school diploma or GED. Prior parking or gondola experience is not required; prior guest services experience is preferred.  This is an entry level position in parking/gondola operations.  The Attendant will be trained in the skills necessary to perform the Parking and Transit roles. Will be asked to become proficient and familiar with Mountain Village and surrounding areas. Must pass lift and bus/shuttle safety trainings within 30 days of hire.
Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English; follow oral and written instructions and memorize necessary information. 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid drivers license is required.

Other Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:Gondola and TMV policies and safety procedures; Gondola Operations standards and rules; Federal, state and regional public transit regulations and safety standards; radio and telephone communications protocols; TMV parking regulations.

Skill in:Attending to guests in a safe manner, in compliance with all policies and procedures, and state and local regulations; react quickly to situations that could create safety and customer security problems; using courtesy and respect in providing excellent customer service to guests; establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with employees and the general public.

Environmental Factors:Work is performed outdoors in variable weather conditions. Operators come into contact with highly used public cabins and public spaces on a regular basis.

Physical Factors:While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to continuously stand and walk while on duty; may lift/move up to 40 lbs. This position will assist with snow maintenance using a snow shovel or other snow removal equipment.
