This individual serves as a liaison between students, regular education instructors, parents, administration, and both public and private social agencies. This position requires a positive, consistent, organized, and flexible individual with a strong desire to make an impact on students.
This position requires, but is not limited to the following: - Wisconsin Certification #830 (ED) or #801 (CC) preferred
- Strong experience and/or training in mathematics and reading strategies.
- Ability to teach students in all core subject areas.
- Ability to forge positive relationships with the parents/guardians of students.
- Ability to work collegially with staff, Student Services, administration, the faculty, social services, and other public or private agencies as needed.
- Flexibility and willingness to work with students during crisis situations on extremely short notice.
- Knowledge of student scheduling and the ability to be creative while doing such.
- Monitor student academic progress, attendance, and behavioral issues on a daily basis.
- Case management duties including the ability to faciitate an IEP meeting and write IEP's with clear behavioral & learning goals.
- Ability to forge positive relationships with parents/guardians of students.
- Ability to provide instruction in social, emotional, and life skills.
- Ability to facilitate student/parent/teacher meetings as needed.
- Ability to physically intervene with students using NVCI techniques.
- Ability to transport students (valid driver's license required).
- Other duties as assigned.
Reports To: Building Principal and Director of Student Services.
