Position Summary:

 

The Billing Manager will lead a team of billing analysts in executing critical operational processes and reporting that will drive accurate, timely invoice generation and resolution of billing-related issues. This role focuses on tactical implementation of billing procedures, continuous process improvement initiatives, and maintaining operational excellence within the billing function. The Billing Manager will execute SOX controls, develop team capabilities, and create analytical insights that support the department's strategic objectives. This position requires a hands-on leader who excels at process optimization, team development, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop a team of 2-4 Billing Analysts through training, mentoring, and performance management to build departmental capabilities and ensure consistent execution of billing processes.
  • Operational Process Management: Execute and maintain established billing policies and procedures while identifying and implementing continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • SOX Controls & Compliance: Perform and maintain SOX controls related to billing operations, ensuring compliance with established frameworks while supporting audit requirements and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Performance Analytics & Reporting: Create, analyze, and maintain performance metrics and reporting tools to monitor billing operations, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support management decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Customer Service, IT, Sales, Accounting, and other stakeholders to optimize billing workflows and resolve operational challenges that impact customer experience.
  • Project Management: Represent the Billing Department on special projects impacting multiple functional areas within the company.

  • Problem-Solving: Expertise in resolving operational issues efficiently and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Process Improvement: Proactive individual skilled in identifying inefficiencies and implementing tactical improvements to streamline daily workflows and provide meaningful analyses.
  • Adaptability and Grit: Thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and demonstrates resilience in overcoming obstacles

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:         BA/BS degree (Management, Economics, Accounting, Pricing or Finance); MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in billing, accounting or a related field.   
  • 2 years Supervisory/Management experience preferred.
