Safety & Compliance
- Lead a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and environmental standards.
- Lead proactive risk identification and resolution, ensuring that all team members operate in a safe and professional manner.
- Lead the implementation of 5S, TPM, and other visual management systems to enhance workplace safety and organization.
Training, Standardization & Accountability
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality production practices.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained to their respective SOPs and job requirements through structured onboarding, cross-training, and skill development programs.
- Own and lead the training process, including periodic refresher training and certification to maintain competency and flexibility within the workforce.
- Monitor and audit adherence to SOPs, promptly addressing behavioral or performance gaps through coaching, corrective action, or reinforcement as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability and operational discipline, ensuring that expectations are clearly communicated, understood, and upheld by all team members.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop shift supervisors and process engineers aligning individual performance with plant goals.
- Lead development plans and succession planning through mentorship, training, and engagement in continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with HR and management teams to assess and fulfill short-, mid-, and long-term labor and competency needs.
- Develop and maintain both formal and informal communication channels—such as monthly roundtables with team members—to ensure strong, consistent communication across all team members and departments.
Daily Production & Operations Oversight
- Lead and oversee the daily production schedule, ensuring uninterrupted operations across all shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Lead daily meetings to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues, using reliable data and a structured problem-solving approach.
- Maintain a strong, visible presence on the production floor to monitor operations, proactively address deviations, and support frontline teams.
- Ensure immediate and effective response to production disruptions by coordinating resources from Maintenance, Engineering, and Materials to restore flow quickly and sustainably.
- Establish and maintain clear lines of communication and escalation protocols for emergent issues affecting safety, quality, or delivery.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Resource Coordination
- Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure all equipment operates at optimal reliability and that preventative and corrective maintenance is coordinated effectively.
- Partner with Materials and Supply Chain teams to ensure inventory availability and optimized flow of components to meet production targets.
- Ensure that maintenance & engineering and continuous improvement initiatives are executed with minimal disruption to production and aligned with plant priorities.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, yield, scrap, downtime, and labor efficiency. Develop action plans for gaps.
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) and ensure sustainable incorporation of improvements into SOPs and training.
- Collaborate with Continuous Improvement Manager and lead Process Engineers to identify and eliminate production waste, improve material flow, and reduce cost per unit. Proactively manage OCS – operational cost saving initiatives in line with area targets.
Strategic Alignment & Reporting
- Monitor performance against production goals, safety, customer returns, and overall budget compliance. Develop preventive and corrective actions.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with upper management and across departments on plant performance and improvement initiatives.

- Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operation Management / Engineering / related business field or the equivalent in experience.
- 5-7 years manufacturing or related experience.
- Required to have a working knowledge of all activities in all areas of manufacturing process.
- Excellent people and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Demonstrated skills to continually improve the process, product, and skills of the organization.
- Ability to meet Safety and Job Hazard analysis requirements for glass manufacturing.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications Desired:
- Black belt or Green belt certified
- MBA
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range: $83,784 - $104,730
We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package, which includes 401k, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, company paid holidays, paid vacations, and education assistance.
The Salary Range posted represents Pilkington North America’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of the posting. Individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, etc.
