Job Summary

As a Desktop Engineer, you will be at the heart of our endpoint technology strategy—developing, maintaining, and deploying enterprise desktop images and configurations. You'll serve as a key escalation point for service desk issues, ensure compliance with security standards, and help drive operational excellence through automation and documentation. Your role will directly support the productivity and security of our entire organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, configure, and maintain gold images for desktop deployments
  • Implement system hardening and ensure enterprise-wide endpoint compliance
  • Support and administer Office 365, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Lead imaging and deployment efforts for end-user computing resources
  • Provide advanced support to users via phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Mentor junior IT staff and contribute to knowledge-sharing and training initiatives
  • Participate in IT projects such as hardware refreshes and software rollouts
  • Maintain detailed runbooks, process documentation, and inventory records
  • Enforce IT security best practices across endpoint devices
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

Qualifications

Education & Certifications (Preferred):

  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or other relevant certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT-related field a plus; High School Diploma/GED required

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in desktop engineering or a similar IT support role

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Windows and Mac OS environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both software and hardware
  • Hands-on experience and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Active Directory
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with hardware/software deployment and configuration
  • Proficiency with system imaging, remote support tools, and ticketing platforms
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and IT security best practices
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals and endpoint connectivity

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
  • Proven leadership in mentoring and training IT support staff
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.

 

 

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
