This position will be scheduled to work Sunday - Tuesday, every other Wednesday; 6AM - 6PM, and eligible for a $1/hour shift differential.
I. Position Overview: |
The position is responsible for trimming, inspecting, packaging and finish packing products manufactured on automated Form/Fill/Seal Machines.
II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities: |
- Maintain good manufacturing, good housekeeping and safe operating practices.
• Read, question and understand Job Descriptions and document related paperwork.
• Work from written and verbal job instructions.
• Trim excess flash off product units manually as required.
• Visually inspect bottles for legible lot numbers and expiration date. Inspect for trim die, leaks and other defects.
• Visually inspect pouches and other printed components for legible lot numbers and expiration date and other defects.
- Load foil, literature, cartons and other packaging components onto equipment as required.
• Proper use of equipment such as safety sealers, box makers, shrink machines, inkjet printers, laser scanners, label printers, insert counters and inner carton Stream feeders, conveyors, seal bags on heat sealing machines, etc.
• Place units in plastic bags or inner cartons with inserts and/or adapters, as required. Check sealed bags or shrink wrapped items for complete and proper packaging of products.
• Place packed items in cartons, seal and apply shipper label and stack carton on skid.
• Monitor machinery for jam-ups or other malfunctions, informing appropriate level of supervision, turning machine off when necessary.
• Inform Technician of any machine problems.
• Ensure that a clean and orderly work area is maintained.
• Perform routine housekeeping of packaging area.
- Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
III. Position Requirements: |
Education or Equivalent:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-year experience; preferably in manufacturing /packaging/assembly and desired experience in pharma, medical device or food industries
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
- High level of attention to detail.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Should be familiar with cGMP and safe work practices.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
Physical Requirements:
- Visual Acuity (20/30 corrected vision).
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, handling, grasping
- Occasional climbing ladders/steps walking up inclines and uneven terrain, stooping, kneeling, crouching, writing, talking, bending, turning, balancing, carrying, listening
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
