Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for multiple Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I-II position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM:

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator is a single class with two salary levels. The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator is distinguished from the Senior Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator by the latter’s advanced journey, lead worker and project coordinator duties and the greater responsibility for the operation of the plant.  At the discretion of the appointing authority, incumbents may be advanced to Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I is the entry level in this class. This salary level is for recruiting applicants and training appointees.  Incumbents perform the more routine duties of the class as part of a training program. The duties, knowledge and abilities are the same as for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II except that the work assigned is less complex and difficult. Incumbents work under close supervision until proficiency is gained in performing a variety of technical operational, maintenance and repair duties of less than average difficulty.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator II is the journey level in this class. Incumbents will perform a variety of operational and mechanical maintenance and repair duties under general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or the equivalent.
