About the role
The Foster Care Supervisor leads a team of foster care professionals in ensuring that children and families receive services based on their needs. The role is vital in ensuring the coordination of services and the highest level of support. Compliance is a key focus of this role. The ideal candidate can mentor foster care workers and provide training and constructive feedback to help them grow. Your practice must be rooted in a comprehensive understanding of DHHS licensing requirements.
As a Foster Care Supervisor, you'll be a leader and mentor, providing direction to our team of foster care professionals. You'll be responsible for overseeing service coordination, ensuring all reporting requirements are met, and upholding our commitment to the safety and well-being of every client. This is a hands-on position where you'll be involved in hiring and orienting new staff members, providing ongoing training, and conducting regular supervision with your team. You'll ensure our services are delivered with integrity and in full compliance with state and agency standards.

Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for a Master's degree, in a human services field such as social work, psychology, sociology, or criminal justice.
- Experience: You should have at least four years of direct, related experience, with a minimum of two years in foster care, child welfare, or other children's services. Additionally, you need two years of supervisory experience in child welfare.
- Knowledge & Skills: We're looking for someone with strong supervisory, time management, and conflict resolution skills. You should also have a solid understanding of child development, child welfare laws, and foster care policies.
- Other Requirements: This role requires a valid, unrestricted driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance. You must also be able to pass a DHHS Child Protective Services Background Clearance, a State Police Record Check, and a physical exam that includes a negative TB test result.
