Access Control Officer na Democracy Prep Public Schools

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working in schools, childcare, or security/safety roles (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, attentiveness, and ability to enforce rules with consistency and professionalism.
• Commitment to student safety and a welcoming school environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure the assigned door remains closed and secure at all times.
• Supervise all activity at the door and ensure that scholars only exit if accompanied by an authorized adult.
• Redirect students, staff, families, or visitors attempting to enter through this door to the school’s main entrance for proper sign-in.
• Adhere to Democracy Prep’s Standardized Security Protocols and Guidelines as set forth by Democracy Prep and Joffe (Democracy Prep’s security partner) leadership and managers.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings and promptly report any safety or security concerns to the school’s security team.
• Provide clear, respectful communication when redirecting traffic or enforcing procedures.
• Support school-wide safety expectations during drills or emergencies.
• Adhere to day-to-day updates and schedule changes.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $35,360 to $37,440 and is commensurate with years of experience. Democracy Prep employees are provided with a benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, 403B matching, parental leave, a smartphone, and a laptop.
