We are looking for a Electrical Wire Cabinet Technician to join our growing team in Smithfield, RI. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys technical work, problem-solving, and contributing to products that keep our communities safe.

Position Overview:

The Electrical Wire Cabinet Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing traffic signal control cabinets, panels, and enclosures. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:


Electrical Assembly & Wiring:

  • Read and interpret point-to-point electrical diagrams, blueprints, and written instructions.
  • Cut, strip, tin, crimp, and solder wires according to specifications.
  • Assemble subcomponents, route wiring, and complete electrical terminations.
  • Rework or repair assemblies as required to meet engineering specifications.

Tools & Equipment:

  • Safely operate powered and non-powered hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, cutters, crimpers, drills, wrenches, shears).
  • Use handheld tools and mechanical equipment for assembly and repair tasks.

Quality & Documentation:

  • Complete inventory tracking and production paperwork accurately.
  • Document assembly actions, issues, and quality concerns on required forms.
  • Identify and report assembly      issues or product defects to supervisors promptly.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-train in additional production and assembly areas.
  • Support team members by contributing to shared goals and projects.

Workplace Standards:

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality guidelines.
  • Be willing to work extended hours as business demands.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Relevant electronics or assembly experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Aptitude for working with electronic control equipment.
  • Ability to read diagrams, blueprints, and instructions.
  • Proficiency in soldering and wiring.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive hand tasks.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Visual abilities required: close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
