Position Overview
The Manager of IT Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the university’s core technology infrastructure. This includes servers, networks, Wi-Fi, storage, firewalls, telecom/VoIP systems, and physical security systems such as cameras and door access controls. The manager leads a team of system administrators and network engineers, provides hands-on technical expertise when needed, and ensures that the university’s infrastructure is secure, reliable, and modernized.
This role owns the university’s cloud strategy, manages infrastructure lifecycles, and partners closely with the IT Security Manager on disaster recovery, backups, and compliance. The Manager of IT Infrastructure also manages relationships with infrastructure vendors in coordination with the CIO. While primarily a leadership role, the manager remains hands-on as needed for complex troubleshooting and critical system changes. This position also presents future opportunities for growth into a director-level role as the university modernizes its IT operations.
