Overview:

Title: Site Manager – Office of Aging & Disabled Services

Reports To: Division Manager, Nutrition Services

Schedule: Part Time position, 8:30am-2:30pm (Monday-Friday)

Function: Responsible for supervision, support and related services of meal provision as it relates to the Senior Meal Program and site along with working in cooperation with Office staff, other county staff, grantees and other agencies. 

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the operation of a nutrition site for individuals as a congregate meal site as well as home delivered meals.
  • Conduct assessments and reassessments of program participants.
  • Maintain the essential records and files.
  • Complete and submit monthly reports and other reports as required.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure compliance with state & federal requirements and guidelines.
  • Ensure food service operations are conducted according to state & local health department standards.
  • Receive and distribute prepared meals and maintain cleanliness of the cafeteria and luncheon area.
  • Supervise, and may assist with, manual work involved in cafeteria area, including but not limited to wait on tables and deliver/remove eating trays, cleaning caterer serving trays and utensils, coffee pots, opening cartons, lifting food items, and removing garbage.
  • Accurately record food temperatures and follow food sanitation and safety code policy with receiving, holding, serving, packing out, extra meals, dishwashing procedures and food portion sizes.
  • Preparation of calculation of daily meal counts, as well as inventory items.
  • Ensure that person’s handling/preparing/serving food in the program practice hygienic food handling techniques.
  • May assist with and/or deliver meals to home bound participants.
  • Maybe assigned to sites based on the needs of the program and can be relocated when the needs of the program dictate a change.
  • Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Will be required to learn and utilize various computer programs: State database, Word, Excel for example.
  • Must be organized and self-motivated.
  • Ability to carry out recurring assignments independently and in accord with established procedures and policies.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relations with supervisors, co-workers and public.
  • Ability to remember oral and written instructions and directions and to learn quickly from demonstrations.
  • Ability to train and supervise the performance of staff; assigns suitable assignments and instruction to staff.
  • Ability to see desired objectives are achieved.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good employee and participant relationships.
  • Ability to write descriptive reports using proper style and format.
  • Work to promote a healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid NJ driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Required to pass and maintain food sanitation tests (i.e ServSafe)  

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is:

  • $40,000-$45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
