Position Overview:
The Marketing Intelligence & Analytics Lead is a hybrid role responsible for analyzing sales and marketing performance, identifying growth opportunities, defining market share, and delivering actionable customer, competitive, and market insights. This role supports sales and marketing leadership in making data-informed decisions, improving salesforce effectiveness, and strengthening Composites One’s market positioning through structured intelligence programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Performance Analytics
- Develop and maintain dashboards tracking revenue, gross margin, budget attainment, sales funnel health, and customer-level performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis of sales trends, customer churn, margin erosion, and product mix shifts.
- Provide regional and segment-level insights for business reviews, sales planning, and executive reporting.
- Lead data-driven initiatives to improve market coverage and cost alignment of commercial teams.
- Analyze Net Promoter Score (NPS) results and provide insights.
- Collaborate with Sales Enablement and Product Management to ensure accuracy of customer and product data.
- Evaluate marketing campaign performance, including digital channels, and deliver actionable insights.
Sales Pipeline, Lead & Opportunity Management
- Perform lead analysis to identify sources, conversion success rates, and create dashboards for actionable visibility.
- Analyze CRM opportunity data to monitor pipeline velocity, win rates, and opportunity maintenance.
- Identify gaps in pipeline coverage and provide proactive insights to sales managers and representatives.
Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, product launches, and market trends.
- Coordinate collection of competitive intelligence and market share information from the field.
- Map end markets, quantify their size, and identify growth rates.
- Partner with IT to improve intelligence-gathering processes and systems.
- Create and maintain competitor profiles and win/loss tracking.
- Develop and maintain market share estimates to benchmark performance and set growth objectives.
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Lead structured win/loss debriefs with sales teams and customers when possible.
- Review and provide insights on quote conversion rates.
- Maintain a deal outcome database to identify trends by segment, product, competitor, and sales stage.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Pricing to align intelligence with commercial goals.
- Provide insights that inform territory planning, product portfolio decisions, and campaign targeting.
Expected Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales analysis, business intelligence, or competitive intelligence.
- Strong analytical thinker, able to synthesize data into clear, executive-ready insights.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, performance-driven culture.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate analysis into actionable business recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Comfortable leveraging Artificial Intelligence for accurate insights.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in the B2B industrial distribution sector.
- Proven ability to deliver insights to senior commercial leadership.
- Familiarity with Competitive Intelligence tools (e.g., Klue, Crayon).
Travel:
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000. The actual pay will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
