We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Secretary to join our clinical laboratory team. In this role, you will perform a variety of administrative task that are critical to needs of the department.

Responsibilities:What You’ll Do
- Transcribe pathology reports, memos, and correspondence using Dragon Speech Recognition or handwritten drafts.
- Coordinate and maintain unit records, schedules, and correspondence; manage filing of slides for future reference.
- Prepare and collate monthly Anatomic Pathology coverage schedules and quality assurance reports, including Tumor Board materials.
- Maintain records of newly diagnosed cancer cases and submit data to the Tumor Registry Division in compliance with department policies.
- Enter patient information and specimen requests into the Laboratory Information System per departmental procedures.
- Review, sort, and handle incoming/outgoing correspondence and materials; screen calls and assist staff in retrieving patient data.
- Stay current with University Hospital and departmental policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Graduation from an accredited program in Secretarial Studies plus two (2) years of full-time secretarial experience, preferably in a histology or cytology laboratory.
- An additional year of experience may substitute for completion of a secretarial program.
- College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Basic computer proficiency, including strong word processing skills to type anatomic pathology reports from handwritten drafts.
- Ability to transcribe pathology dictation accurately.

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)
In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $33.97- $48.50
