Senior GL Accountant
We are seeking a full-time Senior GL Accountant to provide general accounting support to the accounting department. Under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, this person will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions related to balance sheet, income statement, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
Job Functions:
- Prepare journal entries and other transactions into the ERP system
- Maintain various subledger (fixed assets, prepaids, ROU assets, etc.) records
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and complete corrections
- Support monthly financial close in accordance with the established close schedule
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and propose corrections
- Provide support to other departments and team members as needed
- Assist with annual audits
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required
- Performing all other duties as assigned
- Understanding accounting transactions
- Strong ability to work accurately with detail and numbers
- Familiarity with a database and merchant service accounts
- Organization skills, attention to detail, productive and dependable worker
- Ability to deal with volume, detail, repetitive daily input, and time constraints
- Ability to handle multiple tasks within demanding deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- Ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workload
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to answer questions and resolve problems with individuals at all levels
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and be able to work independently as needed
- Maintain a high-level of professionalism by being proactive and advising supervisor of potential problems.
- Demonstrated knowledge using Microsoft Office software and Google Suite
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Previous experience in general accounting
- Experience working with major ERP Systems
