As a Tooling Technician, you’ll be at the heart of that mission—ensuring our machinists have the tools they need to deliver excellence.


The Tooling Technician is responsible for preparing, managing, and maintaining tooling setups that enable machinists to perform their work with accuracy, efficiency, and consistency. This role is essential to maintaining production flow and upholding the high standards required in aerospace manufacturing.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up tooling according to detailed set-up sheets and deliver to designated machines
  • Manage and maintain hard tool inventory, including tool holders and accessories
  • Modify tooling and accessories as needed to meet job specifications
  • Collect tooling from completed jobs, tear down, sort, and return to proper storage
  • Inspect tooling for wear or damage and ensure readiness for future use
  • Communicate inventory needs and tooling shortages to supervisors
  • Support machinists and other team members with tooling requests and troubleshooting
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S principles
  • Collaborate across shifts, with supervisor, and with vendors to ensure tooling continuity and availability

Key Roles

· Set-up tooling per set-up sheet and deliver to appropriate machine as well as assist machinists and other employees as needed to dispense tooling and tooling accessories.

· Collect tooling from completed jobs, tear down and sort tooling and place in appropriate location.

· Communicate between vendors and coworkers to maintain continuity between shifts and proper inventory levels of tooling

· Maintain safe operations and a clean work area by utilizing 5S and adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–9 months of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong foundation in math, algebra, geometry, and basic computer skills

Required Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication with internal teams and external vendors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced production team
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
  • The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and handling of tooling components
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently
  • Visual acuity for close inspection, depth perception, and focus adjustment

 

Work Environment

  • Active manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and chemicals
  • Overtime may be required based on production needs
  • Safety-first culture with strict adherence to company policies and hazardous waste procedures
