As a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Lane Technician at Paul Logistics, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our commercial fleet meets safety and compliance standards. From inspecting brakes and tires to verifying driver credentials and documenting findings, your work is critical in keeping our operations safe and on the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections on commercial vehicles, including brakes, tires, lights, steering, and suspension
• Verify driver credentials (CDL, medical card, logbook, etc.) to ensure DOT compliance
• Check for proper cargo securement and compliance with safety standards
• Operate vehicle scales to detect overweight loads
• Document inspection results clearly and accurately using internal systems
• Maintain inspection lane equipment and report maintenance needs
• Notify Shop Foreman of safety violations or out-of-service conditions
• Provide courteous, clear communication to drivers regarding inspection results
• Respond to public inquiries regarding commercial vehicle regulations as needed

Requirements

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in transportation, inspection, or DOT compliance preferred
• Strong understanding of commercial vehicle components and federal safety regulations
• Detail-oriented and able to complete accurate documentation
• Comfortable using computer systems for data entry
• Professional, safety-conscious, and dependable
• Able to work outdoors and in varying conditions
