SUMMARY OF POSITION:


Springs Rescue Mission considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. The Springs Rescue Mission (SRM) Campus Coordinator maintains a safe and healthy environment on the campus of SRM, embracing their role in relational support and transformation of SRM clients. The person in this role is responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment, in conjunction with external security providers, for the Springs Rescue Mission guests, clients, and residents who are staying on campus during the day or overnight in sheltering systems and housing units. In this role, you are responsible for working with staff and clients to understand and uphold campus regulations, guidelines, and core values. In addition, this role is responsible for properly collecting and tracking client data. The undergirding of this role is to display overwhelming hospitality to SRM clients which will provide an environment they are able to grow and transform within.

Requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: these duties may be performed in various campus locations, including the overarching campus, Client Relief Center, and/or Welcome Center.

  • Interacts with and monitors client's behavior and maintain good rapport by providing excellent customer service and hospitality
  • Responds to interpersonal situations and attempts to deescalate crises before they arise
  • Ensures compliance of campus/shelter/program guidelines
  • Demonstrates the ability to set and maintain healthy boundaries in line with SRM values
  • Provide support, encouragement, and accountability to guests.
  • Contact Supervisor in the event of incidents involving dismissal of guest or altercations that are not resolved by verbal intervention.
  • Conduct intakes with new clients while maintaining compliance with privacy requirements.
  • Conduct intake of pets in accordance with the Springs Rescue Mission Pet Policies and Procedures.
  • Conduct tours of the Springs Rescue Mission campus with new clients.
  • Issue parking permits to clients with vehicles.
  • Maintain knowledge of campus wide services and the ability to communicate said services with clients and guests.
  • Maintain order, oversee daily schedule to maintain cleanliness and safety of work area. Place maintenance or I.T. work orders as needed
  • Provide prayer support as needed or requested
  • Assists and supports volunteers in their service
  • As assigned, controls access at the main entrance by screening all clients, and visitors, utilizing magnetometer to detect and prevent weapons, contraband, and drugs from entering the facility
  • Meet with Program participants regularly to provide encouragement and follow up on progress.
  • Complete facilitator training in order to teach classes to Program participants
  • Comply with all information technology training and data privacy requirements: utilizing current systems, i.e., Mission tracker and HMIS, to collect client information and afford daily tracking, submitting reports as required and in a timely manner
  • Encourages clients to comply with facility policy and procedures
  • Assists monitoring, logging, and storage of client property into storage lockers
  • Supports random inspections throughout the facility (interior and exterior) for surveillance of hazardous situations, trespassers, and any illegal activities
  • Completes logs, incident reports and maintain assigned paperwork and other required documentation and reports
  • Engages with clients to ensure SRM rules are followed to include, but not limited to prevention of fires, vandalism, and theft
  • Monitors reception areas front desks and provide crisis intervention when needed to maintain a safe environment
  • Interacts and/or calls local police, fire. emergency response team, and other first responders per SRM protocol
  • Makes routine rounds throughout SRM buildings and property (hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, and office spaces)
  • Provides duties related to fire incidents, evacuation of the building when necessary, utilizing appropriate procedures
  • Coordinates with external security support per SRM protocol
  • Ensures the safety and security of all assigned equipment
  • Adherence to the highest ethical standards, personally and professionally
  • Attends all required meetings and reviews SRM emails regularly
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED, associate degree preferred.
  • Previous non-profit experience desired
  • Previous experience working within a Christian recovery environment desired.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is a constant witness. Christ-centered and compassionate attitude in dealing with people including the homeless and faithfully upholds and exemplifies SRM’s Statement of Faith
  • Desire to serve the Lord in ministry to the lost, hungry, cold, and frightened. Be able and willing to exercise compassion and discernment while modeling the pursuit of Christ likeness.
  • Ability to handle crisis and unexpected situations with calm and clear thinking, demonstrating good analysis and judgment to bring resolution.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, insightful, and perceptive
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of addiction, mental illness, and recovery is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, to self-motivate, and to deliver results
  • Demonstrated or able to learn skills in conflict resolution, crisis management, knowledge of video surveillance and fire alarm systems.
  • Excellent listening skills and able to communicate effectively and to write clearly to be able to complete required paperwork
  • Must be able to work effectively with people from diverse cultures with compassion
  • Street knowledge and understanding of anger management is highly desired.
  • Computer literate, able to use basic office equipment.
  • CPR/First Aid experience/current certification preferred.
  • Able to read, write and perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Two years of sobriety required, if in recovery
  • Flexibility in working hours, including on-call availability and willingness to work holidays as they coincide with regular shifts.
  • Must attend and successfully complete all required training, to include safety/ security training provided by SRM.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and overtime if necessary

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

Occasionally = 1%-33%; frequently = 34%-66%; continuously = 67%-100%.

Works in a typical shelter or housing unit environment.

Occasionally: sitting, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend or stretch, stooping, exposure to outdoor or inclement weather, jumping Frequently: walking, talking, manual dexterity, ability to climb 8+ flights of stairs, high volume of walking (potentially 4+ miles per shift), kneeling, running Continuously: standing, adequate vision and hearing, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress

Salary & benefits include the following: $17.50 - $19.00/hour DOE.

6:00AM - 4:30PM

2:30 PM - 1:00AM

12:00AM-8:00AM


* Full benefits package to include: medical benefits with SRM paying 85% of the medical premium, voluntary Dental, Vision, Allstate Accident Plan, SRM-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and AD&D. Also offered are 8 paid holidays, 21 days of accruable PTO, paid “Soul Care Retreat” days (up to 4 depending upon availability), and a 403b retirement plan with SRM-match after one (1) year, 100% vested beginning DOH; (Benefits are subject to change based on reevaluation or benefit plan changes annually.)

*Benefits begin at 1st of the following month after completing a full 30 days of employment (I.E. start dat January 2, 2025, benefits initiate March 2, 2025).
