Brawley’s Interior Design group provides its services to the Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force for refreshing and refurnishing lodging facilities on military bases located in the United States and around the world. This position is for a Site Superintendent to oversee the furniture, fixtures, & equipment (FF&E) installation crews during the installation of these furnishings packages. The position would require travelling to wherever the project is and overseeing the project. 


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 or more years of site experience in commercial or federal renovation projects ($1M-$5M)
  • OSHA 30-hour Certification preferred, EM 385-1-1 Certification preferred. 
  • Experience in furniture, furnishings, equipment, and/or flooring industry.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Must be willing to travel on projects with durations from 1 to 6 weeks. 


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ensures safety and productivity of project labor and subcontractors.
  • Plans, schedules, coordinates, and directs field activities on FF&E projects.
  • Supervises crews, material and equipment and coordinates installation of all trades work.
  • Coordinates with and provides input to project team on scheduling, material control, and job productivity. 
  • Monitor status of project, schedule, productivity, and costs.
  • Reviews and provides input on job costs and projection updates.
  • Receives and accounts for material against bills of lading and purchase orders. Identifies over and under deliveries and damaged goods. Reports any damages immediately to the Project Manager.

  • Inspects field conditions and ensures compliance with the project drawing and specifications.
  • Ensures compliance with the project drawings and specifications. Gets the product in the spaces as designed. Identifies discrepancies and takes corrective action as needed.
  • Identifies and corrects quality issues.
  • Identifies and implements cost saving measures.
  • Ensures work area is kept free from clutter and trash.
  • Maintains good client relations.
  • Anticipates and is aware of issues, making every attempt to correct before they escalate to the customer. Uses problem solving skills to proactively find solutions quickly and effectively.
  • Any issues that cannot be solved need to be raised with the PM first, and then the customer before the customer “finds” them.
  • Uses effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Plans for starting and completion times adhering to the project installation schedule.
  • Prepares and submits daily reports to the PM on site conditions, progress, materials installed and costs. 
  • Liaises with inspectors/construction contractor on the requirements of permits, licenses and safety.
  • Follows the project install process to ensure that it is completed on time.
  • Supervises the subcontractors and ensures that they are punctual and that they deliver.
  • Ensures that quality is preserved throughout the installation process and that the budget is maintained.
  •  Prepares for and executes walk-through’s with the customer’s representative/contractor.
  • Creates a punch list of any outstanding issues to be corrected that were not able to be corrected on site.
  • Communicates all punch items to the PM in a time sensitive manner.
