Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all inbound and outbound freight, ensuring on-time, cost-effective, and compliant shipments within the U.S. and internationally.
Serve as primary liaison with freight carriers, 3PL providers, and logistics partners, negotiate contracts, schedule shipments, and monitor service performance.
Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, hazardous materials requirements, and Incoterms for both domestic and international shipments.
Oversee shipping and receiving functions, including documentation, customs clearance, and resolution of shipping/receiving issues.
Maintain accurate shipment and inventory data within SAP.
Partner with Business Development and Operations teams to align material deliveries with production schedules and customer demand.
Monitor inventory of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to support timely shipments and avoid shortages.
Identify and qualify new logistics partners to improve cost efficiency, service reliability, and scalability.
Create and maintain detailed reports on freight costs, shipment performance, inventory movements, and operational KPIs.
Support and uphold all ABTC quality, environmental, and safety programs within logistics and shipping operations.
Be able to troubleshoot and resolve logistics and system errors and discrepancies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably in the recycling or manufacturing industries.
Proven knowledge of DOT regulations, HAZMAT, and transportation compliance.
Strong understanding of Incoterms and international shipping practices.
Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts with freight carriers, 3PLs, and logistics providers.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP strongly preferred) for logistics, purchasing, and inventory management.
Experience with supply chain forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
High proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Ability to lift more than 50lbs. with assistance as needed.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders in a plant environment.
Must maintain 20/20 vision (corrective lenses acceptable).
Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.
Ability to properly wear and use required PPE (e.g., eye and face protection, hearing protection, respirators, protective footwear).
