Part-time Registered Nurse Shadow - Special Education 3K

Description QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Registered Nurse with a current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of South Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with experience in pediatric nursing and/or working with individuals with complex medical conditions.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide continuous, specialized one-to-one nursing care during the school day to a designated student with complex medical needs.
• Monitor the student’s health status consistently, administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, and manage medical emergencies such as respiratory distress, feeding tube dislodgement, and seizure disorders to ensure the student’s safety and full participation in educational and social activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the student’s health status, care/treatment provided, and responses to care. Collaborate effectively with school staff, the student’s family, and other healthcare providers to create and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
