Every school across our large estate has been part of an £800m+ modernisation programme, with the aim of creating an additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire that is second to none in meeting the needs and benefits of all our pupils.

 

The Depute Head Teacher is required to:

  • Assist the Head Teacher in the overall management of the school as part of a Management Team.
  • Deputise for the Head Teacher in their absence and have responsibility for the leadership, good management and strategic direction of colleagues.
  • South Lanarkshire Council schools have recently undergone an £800m+ modernisation programme.
  • The aim of this programme is simple - to create high quality additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire - fit for the twenty first century.
  • During this time we have built and modernised numerous Primary and Secondary Schools.

It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.

We are now inviting applications from Fully Qualified (GTC) Primary Teachers.

You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate and will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".

GTC Registration

It is a legal requirement for any teacher teaching in a Scottish state school to be registered with GTC Scotland, General Teaching Council (Scotland) Registration.

Diocese Approval

In line with section 21 (2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 the successful candidate for this post will require to have the approval of the Roman Catholic Church.
