About the Department


Pitt Community College is seeking a dedicated 12-Month Instructor of Welding Technology to join our team. In this role, you will deliver engaging instruction in welding and blueprint reading, mentor students toward academic and career success, and help strengthen connections with industry and the community. This is an opportunity to inspire students, support workforce development, and grow the future of welding education at PCC.

Position Duties

What You’ll Do

  • Teaches and develops various welding and blueprint reading courses and labs, prepares instructional materials, assesses student learning, and maintains accurate records and reports.
  • Advises, recruits, and supports students with registration, scholarships, financial aid, graduation, and job placement.
  • Maintains welding equipment, orders supplies, and assists with scheduling, program promotion, tours, and special projects.
  • Engages with industry partners, professional organizations, and the broader community to enhance program visibility and student opportunities.
  • Participates in campus committees, maintain professional development, and support departmental and institutional goals.

Other Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

Associate’s degree in Welding or related field and three to five years of teaching and/or welding experience and blueprint reading; or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities; Certified Welding Inspector and/or Certified Welding Educator preferred
