About the Department

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under the general supervision of the Dale Robertson Center (DRC) Manager, is responsible for assisting in the transportation and coordination of seniors to and from the center. The nature of the work involves all aspects of customer service and transportation.

You must be 18 years or older to fill this position.

Position Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safe operation of City Vehicles (14-Passenger Vans).
• Must be a self-starter and have great people skills.
• Assist Senior Citizens with wheelchairs, walkers on and off the bus.
• May have to help senior carry groceries.
• Promotes good community relationships.
• Required to work at City Events, Center Events and Special Event trips.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of principles of public relations.
• Knowledge of correct safety policies, practices, and procedures regarding transportation.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to make decisions using good judgment and assume responsibility for their impact.
• Must be able to drive a 14-passenger van on highways and downtown.
• Must be able to react quickly & decisively in emergency situations.
• Must be a responsible and safe driver.
• Must be compassionate and comfortable working around seniors.

Other Qualifications

This classification is a safety-sensitive position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and/or the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana certification will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.
