DESCRIPTION

Decypher is seeking a Physician Assistant candidate to provide support to JBSA Lackland, TX

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversight & Supervision The PA works under the Government Medical Director�s daily guidance and supervises paramedics during field training and sick-call operations.

• Human Performance Integration Focuses on combining medical care with human performance optimization for trainees in SWTW courses.

• Flight Medicine Expertise Applies Air Force flight medicine standards when making care decisions for trainees.

• Protocol Development Helps create emergency and routine medical response protocols, with final approval from the SWOMS Medical Director.

• Advanced Medical Skills Provides patient care in line with DoD and military treatment facility standards, as outlined in the 59th Medical Wing & SWTW agreement.

• Documentation & Review Record patient visits in MHS Genesis, conduct peer reviews, and co-sign notes for non-privileged providers as needed.

• Flight Medicine Support Help with medical clearances and human performance tasks at various training sites.

• Patient Care Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in clinics, training pools, or field settings. Provide medical support during training events.

• Team Collaboration Join weekly meetings with medics and doctors to discuss patient care and give input on student progress.

• Reporting Submit activity reports to government oversight, possibly for databases like HPUT.

• Flexible Scheduling Work up to 40 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays. Be flexible with scheduling.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree/Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Must hold a current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: Meet all requirements specified by the Host MTF credentialing office, who will validate required licenses, certificates and required qualifications. This information will be confirmed to practice in family medicine, flight medicine, occupational medicine, or emergency medicine.
• Experience: Must have a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in:
  • Family Medicine OR
  • Flight Medicine OR
  • Occupational Medicine OR
  • Urgent Care OR
  • Emergency Medicine
• Board Certification: Must maintain NCCPA certification during the life of the contract.
• Licensure/Registration: Maintain a valid, unrestricted license to practice as a PA in any U.S. state
