Join our team and play an integral role in ending homelessness within Marion and Polk Counties! The Supportive Services Coordinator will be responsible for training the support services staff, performing file audits to evaluate compliance, hold team meetings, and provide case management overflow. This is a grant funded, full-time position located at the Navigation Center.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in Human Services or a related field; two years case management/housing navigation or social service experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job may be accepted.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

  • Driver qualifications are required for this position. Must have a valid drivers license, insured vehicle available for use on the job, and satisfactory drive record for the previous five years.
  • Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
  • This position is subject to MWVCAA's Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic proficiencies in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and proficiencies in using computer and phone apps.
  • Prior experience with Homeless Services Delivery preferred. Knowledge of social issues related to homelessness preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to answer questions and explain information and decisions using tact and diplomacy.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

  • Facilitate the daily operations of support services operations.
  • Lead the team in the integration of national best practices in homeless services.
  • Provide training to support services staff on program policies and procedures.
  • Perform file audits, ensuring support services staff are monitoring client's progress and maintaining detailed and up-to-date case
  • Data enter required client data and service transactions into the HomelessManagementInformationSystem(HMIS).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Regulates emotions during interactions with escalated clients and staff.
  • Regulates emotions and handles pressures of frequent demands for attention, time and work tasks.
  • This position requires the ability to move between areas of the building, speaking, hearing and visual abilities.
  • Multiple shifts may require variable work schedules between day, evening and night which requires the ability to adjust to various work schedules and/or rotational work.
  • Requires the physical ability to be driver qualified to transport supplies and clients as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position requires on-site work and is not eligible for remote work.
  • Close quarters, often with a client population experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and/or severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unpredictable behavior.
  • Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
  • Work time will be encompass periods of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, squatting, and a variety of office work that requires ability to read, write, and type.
  • Variable and flexible work hours, including weekends.
  • Occasional exposure to biohazards requiring use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, eye protection, protective clothing and shoes or boots.
  • Potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other conditions. PPE such as face coverings may be required.
