What you’ll be doing...
As an Engineer III Spec - Network Equipment working on our team, you will provide direct support and assistance with all functions of our hardware integration operation led by our on site Principal Engineer. Together, you will be responsible for supporting a large contingent of contract employee teams at our SKYHI (Stockyards Hardware Integration) facility to integrate & provision complex, state of the art cloud network hardware that will reside in Verizon’s NEC’s, MSC’s, SAP’s & TAP’s to form the backbone of Verizon’s 5G Cloud Network. You will also be responsible for production hardware integration of Verizon’s VARTAC project supporting Verizon Landline Network Hardware Integration. You will interact regularly with business partners in VCP Edge, & Core as well as on the VARTAC Network Team with the sole laser focus of delivering best in class customer experience. You will support & coach network team members for time boxed delivery of prioritized business functionality incorporating exceptionally high quality in very short durations. You will be on site daily at our SKYHI Facility located in Haslet Texas. Your financial acumen must be best in class, in that you will direct support & have ownership level responsibility of a $150M to $250M capital budget that must be precisely managed to monthly metrics that our team creates. You will provide support & direction to members of the team that execute the procurement of hardware & accessories on a JIT - Just In Time topology. You will be responsible to ensure accurate & timely execution of the tasks pertaining to facility maintenance, inventory maintenance, hardware audits, physical & virtual security audits and OSHA equipment service logs, & validate that they are maintained & updated at prescribed regular intervals. You’ll also be responsible for the coordination of shipping, receiving, packaging, & administering white glove logistics & rigging for the cabinets your team manufactures.
Supporting & executing daily tasks that empower the SKYHI operation to optimize results, & productivity, while continually maintaining & supporting a high-performing team that anticipates technical trends and produces successful outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Building & maintaining an understanding of our customer’s needs, so as to deliver a technical design that optimally fulfills our customer’s requirements.
Assisting in developing the team’s technical skill-set while expanding product knowledge to maximize value. This includes ensuring that the team attains and maintains designated manufacturer’s certifications with continuous reviews of technical literature.
Motivating the SKYHI team to provide consistent, high-quality technical deliverables, while identifying and developing enhancement opportunities of our SKYHI Portal.
Participating in leadership briefings and craft clean, professional level presentations.
Conducting periodic operations reviews to maintain focus and cadence on production excellence.
Providing direct & meaningful assistance to the team leads to drive production management of network hardware assembly.
Providing direct & meaningful assistance to the team leads to drive project management of the network hardware integration lifecycle.
Supporting the program management supporting the various facets of the SKYHI operational model.
Assisting the team lead to manage the maintenance & testing of the SKYHI fiber network, while integrating Verizon cloud network hardware to bring fully assembled, cabled, tested, & data captured to Verizon’s cloud network engineering & operations teams.
Evaluating production process gaps, while effectuating rapid change to meet customer priorities.
Supporting the entire team with enthusiasm that inspires them to effectively & efficiently configure network routers, switches & storage arrays.
Possessing a passion to develop the subject matter expertise, so as to supervise our green recycling initiatives including guiding the operation of equipment that recycles OCC & LPDE #4. This requires lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, & operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
Possessing developed experience in financial analysis (i.e., P&L, ROI, cost analysis, business case development, etc.)
Physical requirements of the job may include but are not limited to climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated areas, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to approximately 65 pounds, pushing, pulling, grasping, twisting/bending, and crawling, squatting, or kneeling in small spaces.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to work to occasionally work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Hardware manufacturer management experience & well developed business relationships.
Cloud network hardware assembly experience.
Experience in the management of scripting/code development teams.
A PMP Certification or substantial course study / SME.
Substantial network power management experience.
Recent training in LOTO.
Recent training in NFPA 70e.
Substantial experience with HPE ilo, Dell idrac, NetApp A700, A800, A900.
Substantial AC Power experience 480V, 208V 3Ph.
Substantial DC Power experience Tyco GPS - Galaxy Power System -48V & +24V Rectification.
Experience supervising teams that perform scripting and configuration of routers and switches including BIOS & Firmware revisions.
Experience with dark and lit fiber testing using equipment such as OTDR, and fiberscope.
